Welcome to the weekly wrapup of all MLB and Australian Baseball news.
First off the boys caught up with Jeff Goodworth. Jeff is the Tournament Director of the Australian Provincial Championships that are being held at Tracey Village in the Northern Territory. The tournament runs from the 24th to the 31st of May. Jeff is also the Northern Territory Developement Co-Ordinator and gave an update on the state of baseball in the top end. Next up the boys gave a run down on the form of all the Aussie players playing in MLB this past week which also included a “who’s hot” and “who’s not” breakdown.
Rounding of the show the boys caught up with the Australian Head coach and Redsox scout Jon Deeble. Jon gave an update of the up and coming pitchers currently throwing in Japan. Jon also gave a run down of whats ahead for the Australian Team in the next 12 months.

Rounding of the show the boys spoke with Paul Weichard who recently returned from Taiwan. Paul was a member of the Australian team that recently competed at the Olympic Quailifying tournament in Taiwan and following the tournament he had a short stint playing in Taiwan. Paul announced on the show that he has decided to retire from playing International baseball.

Trevor, the self confessed “Jerry Maguire of Australian Baseball”, spoke at length about how the players managed by BJS are faring in MLB this season. Players discussed included Adam Blackley, Grant Balfour, Chris Snelling, Richard Thompson, Luke Hughes and Trent Oeltjen to name a few.
Next up the boys spoke with Phil Dale. Phil is the Australian scout for the Atlanta Braves and he provided the show with an update on the arm injury of Peter Moylan. Peter was recently put the 15 day disabled list.

Next up, the boys caught up with Baseball Victoria CEO Stephen Nash. Stephen discussed the Bob Jane T-Mart Under 14 championships which gets underway at the Cheltenham Rustlers Baseball complex in Victoria this Sunday the 14th of April. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of a lot of parents and the generous sponsorship of Bob Jane T-Mart, six state teams will battle for the championship title.
Rounding off the show the boys were able to catch up with Colorado Rockies scout and Aussie ABL legend Phil Allen. Phil spoke of the recent signing of the Rockies latest Aussie recruit, 17 yr old NSW outfielder David Kandilas. Phil also gave great insight to what MLB scouts take into consideration when they make a decision to sign players. Phil also expanded on what a sign-on package may consist of such as signing bonus’s and educational oportunities.

Welcome to the weekly wrapup of all MLB and Australian Baseball news.
First off Baseball Radio caught up with Simone Wearne. Simone was an integral member of the Gold Medal winning Victorians who won this years Australian Womens championships that was held recently in Wollongong NSW.
Next up, the boys caught up with Secretary General of the International Baseball Federation Mr John Ostermeyer. In a wide ranging interview John spoke on issues such as Australia’s performance at the recent Olympic Quailifying in Taiwan and the difficulties they faced in not being able to call on players on the MLB rosters, the 2009 World Baseball Classic, the newly released program of the IBAF “I am Baseball” and also the various projects that the IBAF is currently undertaking around the world.
Rounding off the show the boys were able to catch up Phil Balzer. Phil is the coach of the Victorian U14 team that will be playing in the upcoming championships which are being hosted by the Cheltenham Baseball Club in Victoria. The U14 Championship was originally abandoned due to the monsoon weather that swept thru the Lismore, NSW area in January. A groundswell of positive people got together and as a result of their efforts plus the magnificent gesture of Bob Jane T-Marts, the players now have the chance to represent their states in what will be known as the BOB JANE T-MARTS UNDER 14 CHAMPIONSHIPS with state teams from Victoria, Victorian Provincial, NSW, ACT-Territories, SA and WA competing.

This week the boys continued their tour around the states talking to each of the coach’s of the respective grand final champions. This week the caught up with the winners in NSW, Qld and SA.
First off Baseball Radio caught up with Stuart Hanrahan who is the coach of the NSW Major Grade champions Manly Warringah. Manly Warringah defeated Baulkham Hills in the best of 3 final series 2 games to 1. This was the first A grade flag in 31 years for Manly Warringah.
Next up, the boys caught up with Phil Overlack who is coach of the Qld Major Grade champions Indian Baseball Club. The Indians won the best of 3 final series 2 games to 1 and this was their first A Grade premiership in 7 years.
Rounding off the show the boys were able to catch up with Mark Greutner who is the coach of the Port Adelaide Magpies who won the SA Major Grade premiership. The Magpies defeated Glenelg in their best of 3 series 2 games to nil. This was the Magpies first A grade flag in 26 years.

Welcome to the weekly wrapup of all MLB and Australian Baseball news.
Congratulations are in order to our two intrepid hosts, Frita and Skinny, on both having a great season as respective coach’s, Frita in leading the Bonbeach Bluejays in winning the Victorian Div 2 grand final and Skinny, in leading the Williamstown Wolves in winning the Victorian Div 3 grand final.
On this weeks show Baseball Radio caught up the President of the Williamstown Wolves Michael Collins. Michael stepped the boys thru Wolves season and how they achieved their huge upset win in defeating the Springvale Lions for the Div 3 title.
Next up, the boys caught up with WA’s Shane Tonkin and they discussed the outcome of the grand finals matches in Western Australia. Shane was the winning coach of the Swan Districts Black Ducks who defeated the Wanneroo Giants 2-0 in the best of 3 State League Grand Final.
The boys were also able to catch up with the President of the Blackburn Orioles Bruce Dicker. The Orioles defeated the Malvern Braves 7-6 in the Baseball Victoria Div 1 competition. Bruce also spoke of how Blackburn had also won the BV Club Championship award for the 2nd season running which was highlighted by the fact that the Orioles have 11 teams, of the 11 teams 10 teams competed in their respective final series and of these 5 teams went on to claim their respective Grand Final.
