Baseball Radio Episode 86

Welcome to the weekly wrap up of all MLB and Australian Baseball news.

First off this week the boys caught up with Baseball WA Events Manager Shane Tonkin. Shane enlightened all with the announcement of the Barbagallo Perth Heat coaching staff for 2008-9. Joining new head coach Don Kyle will be Graeme Lloyd as pitching coach and Greg Jelks as batting Coach. Also announced is that Baseball WA in conjunction with SportFM (91.3) www.sportfm.com.au, will this week be starting a weekly “Talking Baseball” show that will air between 6 and 7.30pm each Wednesday night during the season. Shane also said that Sportfm will be broadcasting the WA Vs Vic Claxton games that will be played in WA early January. Check out the Baseball Radio National website for the links.

Next up the boys caught up with the new coach of the Queensland Rams Peter Yates. Peter also mentioned that his assistants this year will be Bob Nillsson, Peter Vogler and Paul Gonzalez.

Rounding of the show the boys played part 2 of an interview that James organized with Grant Balfour prior to James heading to India. Grant has had an amazing year to date with the Tampa Bay Rays and at the time of posting this recording the Rays and the Soxs are tied at 3 games apiece. The American League championships has came down to a 7th game decider, for the winner a berth for the World Series Title and the loser……seeya next year.

As always, the show included the “Coach’s Rant” and the “Wood Duck” award and also covered all the latest baseball news from home and a wrap of this weeks Major League matches.
