Welcome to the weekly wrap up of all MLB and Australian Baseball news.
Due to an outside broadcast by station 3ser this weeks program is 30 mins shorter but will be back to its normal hours of 6.30pm-8pm each Friday night.
First off this week the boys caught up with Baseball SA Claxton Shield Manager Ron Harvey. Ron was recently bestowed with the Order of Australia Medal for his services to the sport of baseball. Also holding the title of the SA Director of Coaching, Ron has been working with a Claxton squad of approx 30 players who have been in training since approx July and are looking forward to regaining a playoff spot at the conclusion of this years competition.
Rounding of the show the boys played an interview that James organized with the Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Matt Herges. Prior to making it in the big leagues Matt spent the 98-99 season playing in the ABL with the Adelaide Giants. Since his stint with the ABL Matt has gone on to play for MLB teams, LA Dodgers, Montreal Expos, San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants, Arizona Cardinals, Florida Marlins and has spent the past 2 seasons with the Colorado Rockies.
As always, the show included the “Coach’s Rant” and the “Wood Duck” award and also covered all the latest baseball news from home and a wrap of this weeks Major League matches.
