Claxton Shield G2 - Vic Aces Vs NSW Patriots

Welcome to this special podcast of the 2009 Claxton Shield action.

In this game we saw the NSW Patriots travel to Geelong to play the Victorian Aces for a three game series.

Prior to this series the Aces and the Patriots had locked up positions 2 and 3 on the ladder and both teams were using this series to tune up for the Semi Final that will be held next weekend. The Patriots won game 1 of this series and the Aces were on a 4 game losing streak.

Before the game the boys caught up with Patriots pitcher Richard Thompson. Richard is one of the elite Australian players who have reached the Major League level. Currently a reliever for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Richard was also a member of the Aussie team that picked up an Olympic silver medal. In game 1 Richard pitched the last 1.2 inns to pick up the save in what was a 2-1 ball game.
